As men and women age into their 60s, 70s, AND 80s, their bodies gradually lose bone. This decrease in bone density puts both at risk for wrist, spine and hip fractures.
While there are current bone density screening guidelines for women, guidelines do not exist for men. University of North Carolina School of Medicine bone researchers are working to change that.

From dangerous to disgusting — you don’t want these in your home
There is just about nothing I could do when I was 16 that I cannot do now … except hang-up calls and the splits. I can’t explain to my children the sheer innocent malice of hang-up calls, a simple pleasure robbed from them by caller ID.

There are things I did at 16 so excruciating in retrospect that simply thinking about them in that shadow hour before dawn causes me to make the sound you make when you hit your tailbone really hard — more than a moan, less than a shriek…..
Concerns are increasing over the nation’s ability to afford Alzheimer’s care and support systems. Estimates say Alzheimer’s cases in the U.S. will likely triple to 13.8 million by 2050. Alzheimer’s patients will spend three times more on health care than patients with other types of illnesses. Many costs of Alzheimer’s care are not reimbursed.
